How being grateful will change your life

We've heard it a million times... keep a gratitude journal. But why is that so important, and how will it help us change our lives?

Being grateful has proven to be essential to my happiness. It forces me to look for good things in my life. It creates a time and space for me to focus on the good things, even when I'm not feeling the most optimistic. Basically, it will raise my personal vibe, and that will make me happier.

But how will raising your vibration make you a happier person? It all boils down to an important Universal Law - the Law of Vibration.

The Law of Vibration states: Everything in the world/Universe is in a constant state of motion. (Even if it appears to be solid, it is moving.) That motion is vibration. We all know that like attracts like, and that is no different when we're talking about vibrations. Like vibrations attract like vibrations.

Let's take a look at our thoughts - because of the law of vibration, we know our thoughts vibrate.

If you are having a bad day, your thoughts will be bad. There is no way around that. If you're happy, you have happy thoughts. If you're sad, you have sad thoughts. If you're angry, you have angry thoughts. These bad thoughts vibrate at a frequency that attracts more "bad" to you - because like attracts like.

So when you're having a bad day, the best thing to do is to change your thoughts to better ones so your vibration will change and your day will get better.

This is where gratitude comes into play! If you're experiencing bad thoughts and you all of a sudden have to come up with five things you're grateful for, it will improve your thoughts, raise your vibration, and create a better day for you!

What if you are generally a happy person, though? You will become even happier. And happier. And happier. :)

Let's look at the other benefit of being grateful and keeping a gratitude journal!

When you make gratitude a daily practice, you are hyper-aware of all of the things to be grateful for. Trust me. You can only write down your husband, kids, dog, home, and clean water so many times before you start to realize there is so much more to be grateful for in this life! So, you are aware and looking for things to be grateful for regularly. It just kinda happens without you realizing you're doing it.

Now, imagine how much that changes your vibration because your thoughts are always looking for the good!

I got off track, though... let's take a look at the Law of Attraction.

The Law of Attraction states: you draw to yourself what you place your focus on.

So, if you are always focusing on what to be grateful for, you will draw to you more things to be grateful for.

And that is how being grateful will change your life. It just gets better and better.
